Schematic expiry of the autologic intervertebral disc cell transplant:

With the biological renewal of the intervertebral disk  the patient is getting body-own intravertebral disk tissue back again.  This tissue is won by cell breeding from the intervertebral disk tissue, which was taken with a minimal-invasive operation. About three months after the operation the cells are injected by an injection into the operated area..

1. Step: Withdrawal of the intervertebral disc fabric
Approximately 1 ccm of the intervertebral disc fabric, which must be taken at the intervertebral disc operation (Diskektomie) anyway, is convicted into a sterile vessel and sent to the laboratory together with a blood test of the patient (200 ml).

2. Step: Reproduction of the intervertebral disc cells
The intervertebral disc cells are isolated from fabric test under sterile conditions outside the body. By using the highest safety standards the disc cells are increased in highly specialized cell culture laboratory of the company co.don ® AG. The increase is carried out to all Rules of the law governing the manufacture and prescription of drugs, the good production practice and the quality management (AMG, GMP, DIN EN ISO 9001).

3. Step: Transplant of the intervertebral disc cartilage cells
The transplant of the endogenous intervertebral disc cells is carried out after 3 months of the withdrawal of the intervertebral disc fabric. This temporal distance ensures that the intervertebral disc has healed sufficiently to the transplant appointment again.
